Working remotely requires a reliable, high-speed internet connection so you can access email, join video calls, and perform your daily tasks without interruption. You can check your connection by running a speed test here.
EveryStep's minimum internet speed requirements:
Ping: 100 ms or less
Jitter: 30 ms or less
Download: 25 Mbps or higher
Upload: 10 Mbps or higher
What these mean:
Ping is the response time between your device and a server. Lower is better, especially for anything time-sensitive like video calls.
Jitter measures the fluctuations in the speeds at which a stream of data is sent. A high jitter score can affect streaming and video calls, making them look and sound choppy or glitchy.
Download speed is how quickly information comes to you — loading webpages, opening large files, streaming content, etc.
Upload speed is how quickly information leaves your device — sending emails with attachments, uploading files, and how you appear on video calls.
